Daffodils Days Give FVRH Cancer Patients Hope

Fountain Valley, Calif. (March 13, 2006)— Fountain Valley Regional Hospital and Medical Center (FVRH) has been active in the Daffodil Days campaign since the hospital opened its Orange County Regional Cancer Center. The Gift of Hope is part of the American Cancer Society's annual Daffodil Days, a campaign that funds cancer research, educational programs, services for cancer patients and their families, and furthers the mission of the American Cancer Society.

Through contributions to the Gift of Hope program, the local American Cancer Society is able to deliver bouquets of daffodils anonymously to cancer patients at medical centers and facilities throughout Orange County.

On March 20-21st, the American Cancer Society will once again be on the campus of Fountain Valley Regional Hospital delivering more than 300 daffodil bouquets ear marked for in-patients of the Orange County Regional Cancer Center and out-patients who are seen by the dedicated Fountain Valley Regional Hospital oncology physicians.  Bridget Luter, Cancer Registry employee at the Orange County Regional Cancer Center, worked with American Cancer Society to identify those who would receive the donated bouquets.

“Fountain Valley Regional Hospital and the American Cancer Society have a collaborative partnership that helps support various programs, such as Daffodil Days, to benefit those with cancer. Just a few of the American Cancer Society programs supported by the hospital and are offered on campus include the Great American Smokeout, free prostate cancer screenings, the Wig Bank, and Look Good Free Better, “ said Debbie Keel, CEO. “Daffodil Days is one of the best ways for people to show their goodwill while supporting the fight against cancer. We are appreciative of the anonymous donators who bring a smile to those living with cancer through this wonderful program.”
