Fountain Valley, Calif. — February 3, 2006- A hospital is more than medical equipment and surgical techniques. It is a place that helps promote healing and creates an environment that brings comfort to patients and families. That’s why Fountain Valley Regional Hospital and Medical Center’s new Chief Executive Officer Debbie Keel has expanded our hospitality services concurrent with the acquisition of new medical and surgical technology.
To ensure an accommodating experience, Keel added valet parking for patient and visitor convenience, as well as teamed up with Morrison Healthcare Food Service to redesign the hospital cafeteria, known as Spice of Life, that offers a broad selection of food that is both healthy and delicious.
From there, she and her team began renovations on several areas of the hospital. New flooring, fixtures, paint, window coverings, furniture and more will adorn Same Day Services, patient rooms, public restrooms, and lobbies in the main area, emergency room, East Tower and Women and Children’s Center.
While improving hospitality services, she did not lose sight of the technological priorities. “In the last few months we have also invested in several pieces of innovative equipment for cardiac, GI, orthopedic and other specialized care,” said Keel. “To make a difference, we need to continually update and expand every area of the hospital. To me, this is an ongoing project that will grow and change as needed for our patients.”
For the past 21 years, Keel has served as a hospital and healthcare administrator, the last eleven of which she’s worked for Tenet Healthcare, the parent company for FVRH. Most recently, she served as the Vice President of Operations for Tenet California. Prior to coming to California, she was the CEO at Kenner Regional Medical Center in New Orleans.
