Fountain Valley Regional Hospital and Medical Center 35th Anniversary

November 1, 2006 -Fountain Valley, Calif. — Since the hospital opened its doors on November 1, 1971, Fountain Valley Regional Hospital and Medical Center (FVRH) has set new standards in health care for Orange County residents. FVRH celebrates a significant anniversary on Wednesday, marking 35 years of providing life-changing and life-saving care to its communities.

“FVRH has a 35-year tradition of building programs that meet the growing needs of our patients,” said Debbie Keel, Chief Executive Officer at FVRH. “Combined with a caring staff, innovative technology and highly skilled physicians, there are few hospitals in Southern California that offer the breadth and depth of services you find here.”

The American Heart Association recently recognized FVRH for turning guidelines into lifelines. FVRH received the Initial performance Achievement Hospital Award for Coronary Heart Disease as featured in U.S News and World Report. Adding to the hospital’s many accolades over the years, FVRH was recently designated as a Surgical Center of Excellence for Bariatric Surgery. In addition, FVRH is proud to introduce the Orange County Institutes for Heart and Vascular Care, Spine, Orthopedics, Neurosurgery and Pediatrics.

“Fountain Valley is a great place to work. We have a standard of care that is outstanding,” said Sheldon Barasch, M.D., a surgical pathologist who has worked at FVRH since it opened. “I love this hospital. I’m proud of the service we provide and the talented staff delivering a high quality of care.”

To recognize this historic event, a cake cutting celebration was held on Thursday, November 2, 2006 at 12 pm in the Fountain Valley Regional Hospital cafeteria. Present were FVRH employees, the Mayor of Fountain Valley, Representatives from Fountain Valley Chamber of Commerce and Representatives from California State Senator Tom Harmon’s Office and State Assemblyman Van Tran’s Office. Proclamations were given from each City and State Official present recognizing Fountain Valley Regional Hospital’s 35 years of service to the community.
