Pediatric Emergency Care

Few things are more stressful than taking your child to the emergency room. Fountain Valley Regional Hospital is prepared to handle minor emergencies such as fever, ear infections, minor cuts and sprains as well more critical medical emergencies and illnesses. The main waiting area of the Emergency Department is spacious with a separate children’s room which includes an activity table and children’s books.

Our Emergency Department is staffed with emergency medicine physicians with training in pediatric emergencies. And because we have a Pediatric Unit and a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit onsite, our ER physicians have immediate access to our Pediatric hospitalists 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If your child needs to be admitted, the Pediatric Hospitalists will coordinate the care and any specialized pediatric consultations necessary within our Pediatric units.

Not all hospitals have the training or resources to treat very sick or critically ill children – those hospitals would usually have to transfer your child to another facility. At Fountain Valley Regional Hospital, you can ease your stress a little knowing your child will receive the high level of care they need while remaining close to home.

If you are experiencing a life-threatening emergency, please call 9-1-1 and go to your nearest emergency
