Volunteer With Us
If you are looking to help others and serve your community, volunteering at Fountain Valley Regional Hospital can fulfill your desire to lend a hand to someone during their hospital stay. The Volunteer Program at Fountain Valley Regional Hospital has provided ongoing assistance and support to our patients, medical staff, and community for over 50 years. Our volunteers are a dynamic group of driven individuals who bring us their dedication, time, and heart. Our volunteers come from a variety of ages and backgrounds with the common desire to provide a valuable service to the community by improving the patient experience in a compassionate manner.
The success of our volunteers is dependent upon teamwork, which is developed through the positive relationships established within the program. Together we support the patients, staff, and community. Assignments are determined by the Hospital Volunteer Program, individual interest, availability, and department needs.
Volunteering opportunities may include:
- Greeting and Escorting
- Patient Comfort and Support
- Patient Tea Time
- Pet Therapy - must have a trained and registered therapy dog
Adult and College Student Volunteer Program
Our adult and college student volunteers strive to help patients and guests feel comfortable and welcome in the hospital. Volunteers benefit from the satisfaction of knowing they are serving their community while learning new skills and making friends. Past hospital or healthcare experience is not necessary. Volunteers are involved throughout the hospital in a variety of capacities. Shifts are available from early morning to late afternoon/evening. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis. To apply for the Adult and College Student Volunteer Program, complete the online application below.
Please note: We interview potential adult and college volunteers on a monthly basis. Once we receive your application, we will contact you by email to schedule an appointment during the next available interview cycle.
Junior Volunteer Program
Our Junior Volunteers are an elite group of high school students who are selected to represent the youth of our community through their values, enthusiasm, and genuine interest to help others. This opportunity is open to students, ages 16-18 years of
age that are currently in high school. Our Juniors Volunteers must commit to volunteering for at least six months from their start date. The program offers 3-hour shifts every weekend (Saturday or Sunday) for a total of ~12 hours per month.
