High Risk Pregnancy
Helping lower the risk of high-risk pregnancies
If you have diabetes, a heart condition, hypertension or other special health condition, you are at a higher risk of developing complications before, during and after pregnancy. Mothers of multiples or women over 30 can also develop complications. At Fountain Valley Regional Hospital and Medical Center, we offer specialized care for women facing a high-risk pregnancy, no matter the cause. Our highly skilled perinatologists (physicians who specialize in high-risk pregnancies) will work closely with your obstetricians and nurses to make sure you have a healthy delivery. Our care includes central fetal monitoring to assess your baby’s health before and during labor.
You can find out more about conditions that lead to a high-risk pregnancy by reading our health library articles Health Library.
