Accessibility Statement

We are committed to providing a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience. To do so, we are actively working with consultants to update the website by increasing its accessibility and usability by persons who use assistive technologies such as automated tools, keyboard-only navigation, and screen readers.

We are working to have the website conform to the relevant standards of the Section 508 Web Accessibility Standards developed by the United States Access Board, as well as the World Wide Web Consortium's (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1. These standards and guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities. We believe that conformance with these standards and guidelines will help make the website more user friendly for all people.

Our efforts are ongoing. While we strive to have the website adhere to these guidelines and standards, it is not always possible to do so in all areas of the website. If, at any time, you have specific questions or concerns about the accessibility of any particular webpage, please contact so that we may be of assistance.

Thank you. We hope you enjoy using our website.

Support Groups

Fountain Valley Regional Hospital and Medical Center offers a variety of organized groups that support individual healthcare goals. These groups allow you to meet with others faced with similar issues, learn from them and share your own experiences.

Surgical weight loss support groups

Bariatric Support Group

Fountain Valley’s weight-loss support group is open to those considering surgery, as well as those who have already had surgery. The meetings include discussions of topics chosen by patients.

Any bariatric procedure, including gastric bypass, has a better chance of success when physical, psychological and relationship issues are acknowledged and discussed.

The meetings provide supportive environments in which all concerns are treated with respect, including:

  • Who to tell about your surgery
  • Getting through the first days following surgery
  • Variations in recovery experiences
  • Eating and recipe ideas
  • Anxiety and stress management
  • Dealing with innocent (and not so innocent) saboteurs
  • Pros and cons of being smaller in size
  • Assertive communication
  • Changing relationships

Diabetes Support Group

The journey to self-management for diabetes control does not have to be a lonely or difficult experience. Our free monthly support group is held the first Tuesday of every month from 5:00pm to 6:00pm and allows you to share daily challenges, while you learn strategies to help achieve your blood sugar targets. The group will discuss coping skills, lifestyle changes and creating your own support system.
