Chief Nursing Officer
Dr. Kristin Christophersen is the Chief Nursing Officer at Fountain Valley Regional Hospital and Medical Center, a 400-bed tertiary care facility in Southern California. Prior to joining FVRMC, Kristin served as the Chief Nursing Officer at Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs, California.
Dr. Christophersen earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Arizona State University, a master’s degree in business administration from Keller Graduate School and a doctorate in nursing practice – executive leadership from American Sentinel University. She has been in various executive leadership roles in the past sixteen years from CEO, COO and CNO. All of her executive level leadership has been in for-profit and physician owned entities. She has been an online faculty for the University of Phoenix for fifteen years teaching organizational leadership and management courses at the undergraduate and graduate level. Prior to her executive experience, she had various Director level positions in the non-profit industry.
Dr. Christophersen maintains many professional affiliations including AONE, ACHE, Sigma Theta Tau and NAHQ. She has served in leadership roles at local ACHE chapters for eight years and was President of the Health Advisory Publishers Editorial Board. She maintained a position on the local ACHE Regent’s advisory council and also served as an editorial board member for AONE. She is a founding board member of the Chi Alpha Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau and has published various articles on leadership in healthcare.
Kristin is married and is the proud mother of three children: an adult son who lives in Sedona, AZ; a adult daughter that lives in Mesa, AZ; and an elementary school age son. She is also the grandmother of a very “diva” granddaughter.
